Free Reads

I used to belong to a fantastic new blog called “Truly, Madly, Deeply Romance Authors.” In it, all twenty six of us authors were presented with writing challenges that we needed to make into short stories.

After a while, I made the tough decision to leave the blog to focus more on my paid writing.

After some deliberation, I decided to keep my free reads for this blog on my facebook page so that new readers could get a taste of my writing and decide if it was for them. While the stories are much less erotic than what I normally write, the world building and character development are very similar to what you’d find in my books. At some point I’ll package these stories and make them available at all major retailers, but until then, they can be found below.

They were a lot of fun to write. I hope that you enjoy them!

~~~ Challenge One ~~~
Write a story based on a song title.
Extra points if you use the song in your story.
My choice was Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes.”
My story can be found here.
~~~ Challenge Two ~~~

In this challenge we had to base our story on either a myth or fairy tale. Since Honor Bound had just released, I decided to write a quick story that had a similar setting – the Shogun era in Japan. I looked up a few Japanese Myths and found one called “The Bamboo Princess” (AKA The Bamboo Cutter’s Daughter”).

I liked the story, but the ending was less than romantic. I decided to give the story my own unique twist and give the princess an ending worthy of any romance novel.

My story can be found here.
